Mtskheta-Mtianeti

The Mtskheta-Mtianeti region is one of the largest in Georgia. Its center is the city of Mtskheta.

The region is very rich with various interesting places.
First of all, it is the city of Mtskheta. The city has a very neat appearance and is focused on receiving guests. From here you can go to the monastery Jvari.

Mountains in Mtskheta-Mtianeti

Interestingly, Mtianeti translates as “a place with mountains.”
The most famous place is Mount Kazbek. It is best to go to Kazbek in the summer. Both tourists and Georgians themselves come here. The place is interesting, so you can and stretch the pleasure for two days.
Gudauri is a ski resort, it is popular in winter.

Nature in Mtskheta-Mtianeti

Here you can find Zhinvali reservoir. There is also a church in Zhinvali, which is under water for ten months a year. You can also visit the lake Bazaleti and the remote reservoir Zioni.
For lovers of extreme travel there are lakes Abudelauri and Keli, but getting there is already quite difficult.
You can visit the reserve Sagurami, especially if you are a nature lover in its original form.
