Paravani (or Faravani) is the largest lake in Georgia. Despite this, the lake is located in the mountains, at an altitude of 2000 meters above sea level.
Traveling through Samtskhe-Javakheti, returning from Ninotsminda to Tbilisi, you should definitely look at Paravani Lake.
Despite the huge size, the depth of the lake is only three meters. Depending on the weather, the water surface changes its color.
Due to the fact that the lake is relatively shallow, the water in the lake is always muddy. In winter, the surface is covered with a thick layer of ice.
For this reason, the mystery of Lake Paravani remained unsolved.
Mysterious object completely discovered by divers. According to eyewitnesses, there was a huge object at the bottom of the lake, at least thirty meters long.
Geophysical studies have shown that at the bottom there really is an ancient structure covering almost a thousand square meters.
As a result of this discovery, a scientific expedition was created to investigate the object found. The results were very surprised by scientists.
It turned out that at the bottom of the lake Paravani there is a burial ground from the Bronze Age. Penetrating inside, the researchers found a variety of household utensils. Spectral analysis showed that the findings were made in the 4th century BC.
Further study of the mound allowed to find a corridor leading to the center of the burial.
Researchers have done a great job, but it is far from complete.
There are still many unanswered questions around the mysterious structure.
How did the structure appear under water?
What is the real age of Paravani Lake?
What things can be found inside the mound?
